Interesting article Fast Guy. I would like to point out, however, that of that 1.7 trillion loss, approx half of that $$ loss was attributed to the top 3-5% (Cisco, CMGI, YaHoo, AOL, etc.,) of the 280 companies that were tracked. While the point of the article is/was not lost ie., no track history of earnings/sales/potential, the prevailing feeling of that article (IMHO) is that all "dot.coms" are/should be looked at with a very critical eye if not out right shunned. I think we both know (as well as most if not all of us here on the TGL thread) that these plays are RISKY; and that for awhile, money was being thrown at anything remotely connected with the "net". Heck, we even played most of 'em at one point or another!<g> I do, however, feel that this statement at the end of that article sums it nicely:

"There are still an incredible number of opportunities that will get funded related to the Internet – they're just different," said PricewaterhouseCoopers' Bengston. "We're in the second inning of a nine-inning game. The Dells of the Internet business have not even been founded yet."

Just as before- caveat emptor!!
