My (quick) thoughts on what (the "great") Merrill Lynch had to say about Krispy Kreme (a few days ago) ...

Based on hearing what CNBC said Merrill Lynch said (not always an accurate "rendition," but -- all I have to go on ...)

Merrill says : Krispy Kreme -- GREAT business; stock price ahead of the current fundamentals of the company.

Hey ! I basically agree with this.

But -- I will NOT take the chance of assuming that (of course) the share price of a company I think is brilliantly positioned to "take the world by storm" ... will fall, and allow me to pick it up cheap, after I have decided that the stock is "ahead of itself."

What is the risk / reward of having no position, or being "in" (possibly early) ?

I have watched many stocks go wacko on the upside in a HUGE way, leaving behind lots of people who kept muttering :

"I knew I wanted to own shares of XYZ. I just wish I had not been so stubborn -- trying to wait and pick up some shares after a big decline ..."

If KREM were at 200 or 300 times earnings now, I would probably feel obligated to hope for a pullback.

But -- it is NOT.

Jon.
