So you're saying that the Bloods and Crips target communities/states where the citizens are voting for stricter gun registration laws?
Sorry, I don't buy that argument at all.

What officers in law enforcement tell me is that the street predators target communities with weak law enforcement and unarmed citizens. The leaders of these nation wide networks are not all drugcrazed, bandana wearing, jive shuckers. They are businessmen deploying sales forces.

This is the the side of the arguement the proponents of guncontrol have a tough time dealing with. We found out in the aftermath of the L.A. riots that law enforcement does not have an affirmative obligation to keep me or you safe. It's the doctrine that allowed gangsters to take target practice on Reginald Denny's head with bricks while L.A.P.D. watched.

During the riots, it was every man for himself. Those with guns felt much safer than those without. I know, I was there.

The problem is not that the counrty is awash in guns, though argueable it is. The real problem IMO is that the counrty is awash with a violent group of people who have no respect for themselves or others.

For the record, I do not now, nor will I ever own a gun. IMO the downside outweighs the upside. That's my choice, and I am in favor of letting others make that choice for themselves, in light of their own circumstances.
