Hmmm I am not inclined to call people 'stupid'... If there were such a large number of double holes punched I would say that the ballot was confusing...not that that area of the US is simply filled with 'stupid' people. Apparently there is a margin of error using those machines... I would prefer my president be elected by votes not by margin of error. That is all I am saying. I personally did not check my ballot to insure the hole was punched out... having run a printing press it is not difficult to have a perf not quite punched...
