Pullin-GS: C'mon you really must be kidding.

1) ANY candidate has the the RIGHT under Florida law to ask for a recount in any county. This is true in most, if not all states, and in fact a manual recount in Massachusetts a few years ago resulted in a reversal of the count and a Republican win. Don't blame Gore's camp for exercising their right. Bush had the same right.

2/3) No one ever said to throw out the machines. The manual count is a supplement. Why? Because the 1950's technology machines have a 3-5% error using actual data. They cannot accurately count bent or cards that have hanging chads. The reason that GEORGE BUSH in Texas and other states favor manual recounts is that it should be obvious even to you that the human eye can see a hanging square of paper where the machine can't. Remember that the recount is open to cameras, CSPAN, reporters and has bipartisan counters.

YOU SAID THIS:
An accurate count is most desirable.
Why would you want to risk not getting an accurate count by:
1)re-counting the four most democratic (historically) counties
2)Throwing out the machine counts for less accurate hand counts.
3) Inserting the hand-counting factors known as human-error and partiality in the counting process.
