Well, I wouldn't take the unloaded personal weapons as any big issue Richard... These guys had clips immediately available to them in their personal webgear, but they just were not permitted to "lock and load"... What I can't believe is that the petty officer prevented that sailor from warning off that boat AFTER the bomb went off. I would have told him to "go to hell", risked a court martial, and sprayed a warning burst in front of the boat, rather than risk that possibility that it might contain another bomb.... Better to ask for forgiveness than permission... :0) Just goes to show that leadership is lacking... When someone attacks you, the rules of engagement change AUTOMATICALLY and you are authorized to take whatever action necessary to prevent the possibility of further attack. Regards, Ron
