From Lehman...

Applied Materials(AMAT) 1 - Buy
We Think Q4 Will Be Strong, Guidance Good
·There has been speculation that Applied will provide pessimistic guidance on its 11/15/00 conference call.
We think such speculation is premature.
· So far, no front-end equipment company has announced business weakness for problems other than
misexecution or infrastructure issues. For Applied to be the first to do so would be unusual.
· Applied Materials’ suppliers have seen normal short-term volatility in the company’s ordering pattern, but
nothing that suggests a downturn

Brian-- I couldn't copy this informative NY Times article about republican attempts to rig the absentee ballot in FL. I am interested in your comment.
