Not a bad bullish case, except don't see why you conclude from current evidence that Bush is the favorite. The hand counts are going forward (esp. in Miami/Dade, the big kahuna), they favor Gore (why else do you think the Rs have been opposing them?), the FL sec'y of state has no good reason not to accept them (which the judge said she'd need), she basically just gave in without wanting to say so, and the Rs look bad for opposing "full, fair, accurate" count (according to opinion polls, among other things). Equally important question to me is whether the mkt. is finally shaking off its over-sensitivity to political news. No reason to believe, yet, that it'll make A LOT of difference either way, policy-wise, who's elected - except maybe in tobacco-land (a lot of people here day-trading MO?... didn't think so...), more maybe in drugs, conceivably in bonds.
