With Clinton in office, much "bashing" legislation wasn't even forwarded for a vote because the Repubs knew a Clinton veto loomed.

What the Republicrooks in Congress will do early on is to hustle to the floor legislation that would make it easier for companies to alter pension plans willy-nilly, make it easier for Big Business to capture pension plan overfunding, loosen up safeguards in the S&L industry, on and on. If you think such doesn't affect the average American worker, talk to some of your fellow New Hampshire residents who work for IBM. Ask some of them in their 40s how they liked IBM's decision to convert its defined benefits pension plan to a cash-balance plan so Big Blue could "remain competitive."

Most of this stuff GWB will sign without reading. When enough non-union Republican workers get screwed by the GOP's Big Business agenda, then, I suppose, things could change.
