In fact, the Bush camp included that argument as a key part of its pleadings in federal court the other day....and it clearly makes ultimate sense, IMO. By the by, the court certainly did NOT rule against this argument, just said to follow the rules of Fla. for now. Those rules now seem to indicate that the bolstered results coming in won't make the deadline anyway.

So, here we are Mr. Gore. Gore quits here...or he gets himself a statewide hand-count. If he continues to seek an unbiased playing field every chance he gets, he may not even get that. If he wins on an unbalanced playing field...I pity the man for what he'll go through in the future, though he'd deserve it all.

As I understand it it is a legal technicality. The Bush people were so committed to no manual recount that they allowed the deadline to request a manual to pass in counties that would favor them. The Demos really only wanted the counties favorable to them recounted. ...

I agree with Dan ........If the demos win without all counties recounted they lose creditability ......Big time.
