I don't think the people are near riled up enough for catharsis yet. I see the preferred scenario as

Re-count in Florida continues past 5pm.
Florida certified for Bush, he claims victory.
Re-count shows Bush losing in Florida.
Bush calls for recount and sues somebody to shred the ballots.
Gore sues someone else.
Supreme Court hears the case and declares the election null and void.
New nationwide election results in a clear winner.

Each candidate picks an entire state (or two) to recount, Florida and Michican for example and recount the whole thing. Loser concedes

I doubt I will see my whole cathartic scenario because there are too many wimps that don't want to stir up enough of the electorial process to fix it. I just hope none of the candidates wimp out.
