" No. I was not talking about God, or making any assumptions about his existence or lack thereof. "What if death is the beginning?" What if birth is really the end. What if up is down? What if what if what if.... You have wandered into never never land I think. I was talking about your belief that forgiveness is somehow important at the end of one's life. To refresh your memory you said " and you had plenty of information in order to make a rational choice to receive forgiveness for those, shall we call them mistakes". I've already dealt with the fact that I do NOT have the same information you have and you can't possibly know what sort of information I have or require. Although I'll tell you right now I do not have plenty to make a rational choice to receive forgiveness from any supernatural entity, for anything. I don't see "mistakes" in the same way you do. I find my mistakes valuable and do not wish to be forgiven for them or anything else. Clearly you did not understand me when I said forgiveness is meaningless to me EXCEPT as a human social convention. Let me say it again- FORGIVENESS has no meaning for me except as a human social convention. It clearly has another meaning for YOU and your existence is bounded by that belief, for as long as you hold it. MY existence is bounded by other beliefs, less ardently held than yours I suspect, and the fact that they are not the same may or may not have anything to do with the existence of God. That is simply not the issue here. It is you who are begging a question that was not even on the table. Whether Or NOT a God exists is unimportant to the fact at issue- namely, that you think forgiveness is important. I do not. The debate about God is a separate debate. After you argue about God, you could argue about whether forgiveness is an issue to God. But even that has nothing to do with the fact that YOU think forgiveness is important. The argument about whether God exists goes on and on- and has no resolution. It seems silly to address whether forgiveness is important to an entity that may not exist. Forgiveness IS clearly important to YOU- since you obviously think the correct choice is to be forgiven. Whether or not God exists forgiveness is important to YOU, human Greg. Even if God does not exist- and you do not know this- you are saying Forgiveness is important to you and I accept that it is important to YOU. I do hope that is clear now.
