From the Miami Herald just now: Recount deadline passes; Bush's Florida lead narrows to 286

Getting a little dicey with democratic counties still counting, absentee ballots missing, Israel and others supposedly rolling back postage dates and Gore/DNC hiring telemarketers to phone WPB residents and inspire local revolt.

Not sure either...but Bush should push to have all counties hand counted ASAP imo. Gore would be hard-pressed to deny that request...even if the time for requesting a recount has passed. In the meantime, Bush should continue to fight the 'need' for hand counting all the way to the Supreme Court. This election is too close not to play all your cards...NOW. Gore's hand is already on the table and its not looking as bad as I had thought. By Saturday imo, we should have a new President. I was sure it was gonna be George W. Bush. Not so sure any more. :(
