Gore and Daley think they can just change any law that gets in their way.

Let's peel away all the spin and BS and get down to a few simple facts regarding the Florida election.

Fact 1: The Broward County elections board (2 Dems and 1 GOP) voted to not pursue a full manual recount. That should remove them from the equation. The Gore lawsuit seeking to reverse this decision is a joke.

Fact 2: Volusia County officials got right down to business after the election and legally completed a full manual recount before 5:00 PM today.

Fact 3: If Volusia County was aware of the state law requiring ballot certification 7 days after the election and completed their manual recount, then Palm Beach and Dade Counties and the Democrats don't have a leg to stand on or any excuse to whine about. They knew the time frame for a recount and chose to ignore it, so

Fact 4: The Secretary of State has every reason to tell them to go pound sand as they try to circumvent lawful state election statutes. She will be completely justified in rejecting their requests for extensions of the certification deadline so that they can conduct their fishing expedition.

IMO, the courts will uphold this and Bush will win Florida, unless the overseas absentee ballots favor Gore.
