There is an old saying that "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts, absolutely".

The Republicans showed that they will abuse majority power, when they impeached Clinton, without examining if Clinton's behavior rose to the level of impeachment dictated by the constitution.

The Republican Party impeached Clinton, against the wishes of the American people.

The Republican Party put this country thru many months of misery and damage, while they pursued their partisan, power hungry goal of "getting" a US President.

Now, if the Republicans get both the White House and Congress, can we expect better and more democratic behaviour? I think not. Time will tell.
