I think we share the same basic reservations regarding VIA. My point, however, was that a complete lack of DDR chipsets from Intel for another 12 months should open up a window for VIA similar to the last one.

VIA's mainstream success depends fully on Intel. If Intel were to get some good DDR chipsets out the door for both PIII and P4 next quarter, VIA would probably see sales drop something like 50%. Ouch.
