Bravo Ike,

Very nice response, and as John Maynard Keynes (Suposedly the Father of Modern Economic Theory) proclaimed "In the long run, we're all dead". As you state the "Market Bias to Bush"... Agreed in the long run earnings and revenue growth dictate, but I have to think that for the next few days, there must be a bias geared to election outcome, with earnings playing a back seat. SOX is celebrating, but appears dow, comp, inx/spx, ndx are waiting for Bush or Greenspan.

Thank You for giving that plug to Regan, I firmly believe now, and have always... that credit belongs with Regan, and that all successors were merely riding "coat tails"

I believe that once this horse race is deceided, and the office is settled, if in Bush favor, I beleive most will like to jump back on MSFT train, as it would be a "Office Warming Gift" from President Bush.

Kind Wishes, Best

John

This has gotten to the point where my wife and I are having conversations like this.

<SE> - Well the Secretary of State refused to accept any additional counts.

<TE> - Yeah, and the Democrats are accusing her of abuse of power.

<SE> - Seems to me that that is a bit premature. I would think that you would need to know the reasons specifically given by the counties and you would need to know the legal basis of the Sec. of State's opinion before you could decide whether or not she abused her poower.

<TE> - I heard Gov Bush signed a hand recount law in TX.

<SE> - Yes, but I also heard, but have not read it myself, so with that caveat, I heard that there are objective standards written into the TX law.

<TE> - Interesting that we have not heard anything further about the "illegal" ballot in PBC.

<SE> - It apparently has been determined to be a legal ballot so that talking point has now been dropped.

<TE> - How can they then rip the Sec of State prior to knowing the basis of her opinion?

<SE> - Talking point. There really is no justification....

<TE> - Hear Gore suggested a manual recount for the entire state of FL.

<SE> - Yes, I heard that.

<TE> - Wonder why he thinks that he and Gov Bush can decide what FL ought to do regardless of what their laws are about the recounts.

<SE> - Geez, beats me? <g> He must be desparate.

..and the beat goes on....and on....and on.....

-Scott

Hello Ike,

You're response to election driven market direction was unsettling to me. But, you made me go hard to find some answers. Being an avid user of candle sticks, I've analized approx 150 charts over the last week, of industry leaders across the spectrum, Oils, drugs, health, bio, tech, transport, mfg, retail etc. They all appear weak. I will agree that now this decline is not election driven at this point. But I do belive based on those charts, that this appears to look like a set-up for a further decline. If you look at institutional activity over last week, any attempt at a rally was sold into very heavy by institutions. I beleive in the disguise of election news fallout, but actually weak economy, and earnings driven. You know as well as I that over the last 5 years you could use an Idiots technique of "averaging" buying a dip, and look like a hero. What better way to clean off the table, using this election confusion as a front. When the results are finally official, It appears that that rally is going to be sold fairly hard. Curious as to your read.

John
