Gilder periodically removes companies from his list because in his opinion they no longer have what he considers to be the "ascending technology" in the field. His report is about technology not stock picks even though it is used as such.

He also makes the point that just because companies are removed from the list, does not mean that they are no longer a worthwhile investment. They simply don't meet his technology criteria any longer.

Gilder's technology report is about identifying companies with "ascending technologies" that have the potential to disrupt the current technology available. With the rate of change we are experiencing in tech, it is logical that companies will not stay on the list forever.
