Some quick notes from the replay of the inter-qtr conf call.
(replay available at elon's web site) :

CFO said :
- CYA stuff on forward guidance stuff etc
- Forward EPS guidance for Q4 remains 3c/share
- 42-53% is recognized in the last week of the quarter
- revenue 13.4M for the qtr remains reasonable

Ken Oshman then took over :
- Description of business for "many new folks following us" (analysyts ?)
- We own LonWorks IPR and it creates enormous BTE for our competitors
- Lost Whirlpool deal - disappointed - believes LonWorks will eventually prevail @ Whirlpool
- Discussion on Enel....
- "How we make money" : What we sell is network infrastructure h/w ad s/w. A few $s for every device installed.
- Working to sign up other Enel kinda deals

Q&A :
- Any issues with Enel deal ? : No issues, pleased, Enel will go live in a few months
- Residential Gateway with Sun - opinions ? : begins a series of joint seminars with Sun soon. Our vision of OSGI is that we will provide a framework that multiple vendors can build to specs. We are not interested in a gateway box manufacture - its low margin. we're into selling h/w+s/w that resides beyond the gateway.
- What prevents competitors from 'eating your lunch' ? : We have a lot more s/w (to prevent our lunch being eaten) than Cisco has, except IOS for Cisco, our equivalent is LNS. We want people innovating on this platform.
- Why was a glowing report from Prudential not widely published ? : No idea - ask your Prudential broker. Check on the Nasdaq board - its there.
- Thoughts on Bluetooth ? Do u expect it to go away ? : We dont expect it to go away. We're focussed on wired solutions. Bluetooth is for portable devices, in a short range. Most "every day devices" are stable in 1 place. largest volume opportunity is in stable devices not mobile devices. We expect someone else to bridge Bluetooth to LonWorks, not us. A typical home has 3 networks : Data, entertainment, and everyday devices. The 3rd is what we're focussed on, and these will not be RF networks.
-GE/Honewell merger : we see it as an opportunity and having discussions with both.
