Gore hasn't taken enough credit. That's his principal problem. He's been a huge success. Compared to Bush his record and accomplishments are exemplary to the Nth degree. This comes to personality though. Maybe Gore just doesn't know how to be as smooth about it. That combined with vicious slealth and subliminal attacks from your opponents can sow seeds of doubt in both the conscious and subconscious minds of the electorate. Just enough to make a difference. I admit the GOP waged a fearsome campaign against Al and were somewhat successful. Bush got away with so much. Either because he's got Teflon or because the Dems just didn't get personal enough. But Gore's personality alone compared to Bush's was enough to make the election close. If not for that and Nader Gore should have won by a landslide considering his record and qualifications. No one has ever been more qualified than Al to step into the Oval Office. With Bush we start from scratch.
