You are clearly afraid that any change in the EC system might hurt Republicans in rural areas. That is no defence for denying individuals equal value for their votes. In fact the entire two-party system has gone too far. If you're a republican you should also worry about why your party machine was able to crush McCain's candidacy. Why should the biggest insider with the most cash be the pre-destined winner? Sure money will always make a difference but issues like the EC and soft money hurt our democracy and water-down the real will of the people. No wonder you have a Jesse Ventura in a progrssive state. And Nader has some points to make about the two parties ressembling each other more and more. If you're afraid of the tyranny of the majority then you're not intreested in a true democracy. You're just trying to defend your minority interest. And elt me ask you this. Did your vote make any difference this election? I know mine didn't in California. Might as well not even have voted. And I'm someone who cares deeply about this election. meanwhile anyone in Florida of New Hampshire or Iowa made all the difference in the world. The issue cannot be whose party has more people where. The issue should be that EACH VOTE SHOULD COUNT. And another thing, you talk to young people today and they don't even like the two parties. You are going to find more and more cynicism about the two parties going forward unless changes are made. After this mess we're in both parties will be despised equally. And more and more in the future. Why for instance hate a guy like Clinton just because he's a Democrat. He has been a great president. Peace and prosperity for eight years, no race riots, no major crises except over his sex life due to the attack dogs on the right. And why should I be forced to dislike McCain just because he's a Republican? McCain is clearly preferable to Bush. Why did Bush get nominated in the first place? Answer: soft money, tons and tons of it. Is that democracy? Should the oil and heavy industries be able to elect your nominee for you? What if you are an environmental Republican? What choice do you have? You know damn well the money behind Bush/Cheney is anti-environment. Couldn't care less about it.

Changing the system makes mkore and more sense and this crisis we're in now which keeps getting uglier and more confusing may be the impetus this country needs to finally wake up. because if not this will happen again. In fact we will pratically be doomed to seeing Al vs. GW again four years from now. We will have no choice. And three could be yet another deadlock then.

Jees, maybe I should have voted Nader. LOL
