Please don't try and put words in my mouth. I didn't say urban votes mean less !!! I believe all votes are equal and should be !!! BUT I do believe that there is an absolute need somewhere in the process to protect the Rights and Needs of "ALL AMERICANS as a WHOLE" for the good of the county itself and not one party or another at a given time. It appears the EC has done it's job OK, eh overall, over the years (not perfect but..). Both parties know "The Rules " going into the game. Look at the general overall conditions at this point in time.
Basically a 50% turn out to begin with, AND
Of the original 50%, basically 50% of that is for one party or the other, Right down to a single scrutinized state, split the same way. ( And I live here in it, Naples )
Now we're gonna hear " THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN ! WE HAVE "THE WILL" OF THE PEOPLE.......... PLLEEAASE,
What people, the extra 300 or so one party or another has picked up today / tomorrow. And while I hope my guy, (Bush),takes it, I hope he would say .. "It was close, we won buy a narrow margin, that's the way it is, now let's get to work !!! Will he ? Who knows. Anymore, I don't know where the bottom of politics lie, they seem to be digging a deeper hole as they go, "both sides" But this too will pass. Don't know why they want to make it so hard on themselves for later. Or is it just "the show", and they feel it their responsibility to provide it. I don't think the general public is buying it, at least to the extent of a 50% turnout.
