NEW YORK, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ)
today announced that its iPAQ Home Internet Appliance and iPAQ Pocket PC were
awarded the Best of What's New in the Computer and Software and Electronics
categories respectively during Popular Science magazine's 13th annual Best of

"The iPAQ Pocket PC is perfect for the jet-setting executive. Not only
does it feature calendar, address book and e-mail functions, but it also
allows you to create Microsoft Word and Excel files on the go. It's one of
the most business-savvy personal digital assistants we've seen," said Cecilia
Wessner, Editor-In-Chief of Popular Science. "Compaq's Home Internet

embarrass you in front of the neighbors." The new iPAQ Home Internet

And, rebates are available to further reduce the cost.
"The awards from Popular Science reaffirm the value and quality that
Compaq is delivering to consumers to enhance their ability for anytime and
anywhere access to the Web," said Jack Novia, Compaq's vice president of
Northeast region enterprise sales. "Offerings like the iPAQ Home Internet
Appliance and the iPAQ Pocket PC introduce customers to the new world of
computing by offering easy and simple access to the full benefits of the
Internet."
