On a percent basis..the same will turn up for both.. You almost have it. The only concept you are missing is that the error prone machines are consentrated in democratic counties. The chance for error is equal no matter the party affiliation in these counties, but since there are more democrats there will naturally be more democrat votes that got skipped. You would get more Republican re-counts if the county used punch card machines in the counties where Republicans were majority, but they don't. TP
