That's one way. Another would be for both sides to agree to include the hand counts from the current hand count counties, and make that the final determination.

Bottom line, I think it comes down to the Gore/Bush folks to agree on a final vote count, and what it will include. That's the only way to keep it out of the House, or the US Supreme court. You can bet that if Florida certified the vote on Saturday (after the overseas abentee votes), and then shut down the election, the Gore folks would drag it all the way up to the US Supreme's. I think the Bush folks are currently prepared to take the manual count issue up to the Supreme's if it can't get an answer in the 19th district.

What compromise would work for both camps... I have no idea. Maybe they each take a team in the Florida - Florida State game, at least that would make it entertaining. Funny, if they did that, most Florida folks would still pull for their favorite team, not their favorite candidate <g>.
