Your arguments are precisely what the framers of our system wished to avoid. This is why they accepted the compromise.

No bias here, just think that they knew what they were doing.

If we do what you want, we now would be in a civil war over a nationwide recount because of voting irregularities everywhere.

The system is not outdated and we disagree on that.
