Yes, It is cost effective to treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease etc before they get worse and cost Medicare more money. We can makes prescriptions cheaper for senior citizens by the bulk buying power of the government. When we keep people healthy, they keep working and paying taxes thereby saving money for you and I.
