How can we expect our leaders to put fairness above winning...when we won't?

I don't know the answer now. There has been corruption from both sides, and it did not begin with the media incompetence of declaring the election. Both sides (thanks to technolgy and statistics) knew almost exactly where the election would be won or lost. Pre election polls showed Florida would go to Bush. The media, which have shown extreme competence in the past, somehow lost sight of all the poll statistics, especially in the Republican Pan Handle, which was still voting, but uncounted. Well, mistakes happen. People were tired, and sometimes things get overlooked when you're trying to coordinate coverage across a whole Nation.

Anyhow, I am sure either of them can put on a decent act for the nation if elected. They are not important. The process is. When the time comes that the election actually has momentous meaning (and in my opinion this election has already been won by both parties and leaders, and means nothing)...at that time, the rights of each citizen will mean everything...
