phoenix, nice short on RIMM

What else are you playing or thinking about?

I made money this week long on MLNM and EXTR, but lost going long on ARBA. Although it had been "trading with the tape," the last two days it has not.

Today, like the FOMC day on October 3rd, I just sat there and did nothing when I was 90% certain we would have a drop after the fed announcement. I wonder where my nerve is when I'm looking for it.

For the rest of the week I'm guessing we go sideways, with closes no more than 75 points in either direction from today. Just a WAG.

Nice play phoenix short term support of 84 1/2 is likely to be volleyed around tomorrow, below that I can see 80. Worse case scenario is if it breaks below 78 to confirm H&S it could take a quick dip to 73 range. I think it was bobber who had a descriptive chart showing points of concern. This thing has a mind of it's own and often pulls a rabbit out of the hat by going the opposite way and in that case she could jump to 93 1/2 or surprise the heebeejeebees out of us and touch near 98??? Doubt it though with options expiring Friday.

Wondering if anything will come out of GSachs'- the next five years- gathering where they presented today (Wed). 900,00 over-allotment option expires around Nov 24th and nothing's been said about that as well. Read somewhere that they have firm shipping commitments from AOL and I know from previous CC that it was up to AOL to announce and get the ball rolling for Xmas. IMO that time frame is tightening.

Talking about options.... Tell me your thoughts:
Are the markets holding their heads above the water in order to allow max amount of options to expire worthless and then come Monday take a final run at capitulation? Could there be too many out there thinking that they'll rise.... Is this another to be added to the list of "they'll take off after

1)everyone returns from summer holidays
2)the fund managers have finished selling off their losers
3)the Presidential elections are over
4)the FOMC meeting is over
5)as soon as there is conclusion of who will be the next President
6)the cow jumps over the moon

X
