GOP want manual re-counts in other states, so why criticize Gore for wanting one in Florida which is the closest and most important race of all? Total hypocrisy of course. I say go ahead and recount every comntested state to get to the bottom of this. You Republicans have to agree that is Gore is right and he really won Florida it would be a perversion of democracy to give the race to Bush just because he has a Secretary of State crony trying to block it. I'm sure the GOP would cry foul if the Dems tried to stop them from re-counting in New Mexico, for instance.
Really the stove calling the kettle black here. The GOP wants a total double standard. I don't get their position at all anymore.

Most Republicans could accept Bush only being a fool. It's his other faults, as you have so wisely pointed out, that make many Republicans vote for Gore.
