You ignore that

1) If Bush agreed, neither he nor Gore could order it.

2) A whole minor thrust of Bush's strategy is and has been clearly geared toward getting a statewide hand-count if needed. He's ALWAYS said selective counties is unfair...hence his was the original argument in favor of equal statewide handcounting by virtue of being against selective county counting.

Gore never mentioned the conclusion Bush and everyone else has come to on the issue 'til today.

No... they should have asked for a statewide recount on day one...

They ask for a statewide recount, Bush will have to ask one in New Mexico and Wisconsin (where evidence of fraud exists on tape). And then Iowa... And then we'll have to recount Oregon (who still haven't counted all of there votes yet)

There simply has to be some closure here....
