I heard on the radio today when I was stuck in traffic, that an election in N.M. {I think that was the state) was settled by a poker game.

Look, there is a very good reason for not accepting a total recount of Florida. Without objective standards, the Democratic Florida strongholds can be counted on to increase Gore's total. The Florida Republican strongholds use different types of ballots, not the punch type that are causing so many problems in Palm Beach and other places. If all the counties needed Carnak the Canvasser to interpret, then it would make sense to let different party hacks make the calls and hope they cancel out. That's not the case.
