Kent, I think it's spelled Qwest, not Quest.

They already had brand recognition, and their mkt cap was massive. They sure did need cash flow, their bus model wasn't ramping quite right! They were basically a construction co.

Remember how well wcom was doing a couple yrs ago?? Yup, they had a big backlog too. I guess you miss the point. So much is being installed right now, that's why you'll wait. In 18 mos, there will be so much fo installed, each sytem with huge capacity, it will be a buyer's mkt. (data trafficer's mkt that is, not carrier's mkt.)

Voice traffic is now a lowest-bid, commodity service; data is going the same way.

BTW, my employer does more optical carrier/isp bus than any other co in the world.
