BEA and BroadVision Form Strategic Alliance to Deliver Next-Generation E-Business Solutions

SAN JOSE, Calif. and REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2000

BroadVision® E-business Application Platform to Embed BEA WebLogic

Server - Companies to Engage in Marketing and Engineering Initiatives

BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BEAS - news), one of the world's leading e-business infrastructure software companies, and BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN - news; Neuer Markt:BDN), a leading worldwide supplier of personalized e-business applications, today announced a strategic alliance under which BroadVision has agreed to embed BEA WebLogic Server(TM) within BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise®, BroadVision's e-business application platform.

The two companies have agreed to engage in collaborative engineering and marketing initiatives. Together, the companies will supply next-generation e-business solutions that combine the market's leading Java-based application server with the leading e-business software applications.

The addition of BEA WebLogic Server to the BroadVision product suite is part of BroadVision's strategy for enabling full Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)) support, allowing BroadVision customers to customize and extend their one-to-one, personalized e-business applications using popular J2EE platform technologies. In a separate release issued today, BroadVision announced One-To-One Enterprise Version 6, which includes enhanced support for Java technologies (including Enterprise JavaBeans(TM), JavaServer Pages(TM), and servlets), new systems tools and a high-performance persistent cache mechanism.

This relationship is designed to provide BroadVision's customers with an evolutionary path to J2EE platform technologies and let BEA's thousands of existing customers -- as well as future customers -- who have standardized on the J2EE platform take advantage of BroadVision's suite of leading e-business applications. In addition, the two companies can benefit from strong relationships with global systems integrators who want to develop and sell repeatable solutions based on these technologies.

``Our partnership with BEA is part of our ongoing commitment to deliver the most open and powerful e-business solutions,'' said Dr. Pehong Chen, president, chairman and CEO of BroadVision. ``By combining BEA's web infrastructure expertise with BroadVision's long experience in self-service business applications, we are working to create the industry's most comprehensive e-business application platform.''

``BroadVision customers now have a clear path to future-proofing their B2B and B2C application portfolios, by building on BEA WebLogic Server, the clear market leader in sales, the industry leader in working J2EE implementations, and the vision leader in harnessing the power of enterprise Java,'' said Bill Coleman, founder, chairman and CEO of BEA Systems. ``This partnership with BroadVision is further validation of BEA's e-business platform leadership, which is particularly significant coming from one of the world's leading e-commerce applications companies.''

Any bulls on here? Oh yeah! How we doing, Troops? Everyone hanging in there? Hope so. Hang tough. Don't give up. LTBH folks, stay with quality picks and wait it out.

Shorter term folks like me and my options, this volatility can make ya money. Some of these swings sure have been nice. Just take small profits over and over until stinking wealthy! It can be done, even in this mess.

Been gone for awhile. Back where I can get on here now. Missed everyone.

MOO!
