Gore can say anything he wants to, but he knows the 72 hour deadline has passed, something the viewers watching him may not know. He is only doing this for the appearance of fairness. In fact there is no provision under FLA law for Bush to ask for a handcount in most Repub districts.

Listen to what Al Gore says, but do not necessarily believe him.

Now that the ballots have been handled multiple times, is there any hope that they resemble the ballots voters actually handed in when they finish voting?

Especially with charges that they have been twisted, torn, and otherwise physically altered by the "counters"?
