ImageWare Systems Announces Contract Award in Minnesota
SAN DIEGO, Feb 12, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- ImageWare Systems, Inc. (Amex: IW chart, msgs) today announced that it was awarded a contract to provide a Crime Capture System (CCS) repository system to the State of Minnesota's Department of Public Safety in conjunction with six county sheriff departments. The total value of the project is approximately $111,000 for hardware and software and should be completed in the first quarter of 2001.

ImageWare will design and install a CCS repository server that will provide a single source system from which the six county sheriff departments will be able to share data in a manner that represents a quantum leap in efficiency and provides a cost efficacy that did not exist earlier. Each sheriff's department will submit digital mug shots and other data to the repository server, while maintaining the original information on their local server. The repository server will allow a user to search several thousand more records for a possible suspect and create photo line-ups using photos from every participating agency.
