Jim,

<You've fallen for Gores ploy. >

And what is that ploy? Making a counting process in the Florida that is error prone?

<He tried the same thing in his campaign with Bradley, trying to get him to agree on money and advertisements. >

How does this relate to the current topic?

<With Gore it's like he lost a coin flip or a bet, then says, how about best 2 out of 3? When he loses that, he says' hey, how about best 3 out of 5? 4 out of 7?>

This may sound cute but is inane.

<They had the count, the recount, Dade and Broward originally rejected the hand recount and Palm Beach county made up the rules for chads as they went along.>

300 votes out of 6 million is clearly well within the margin of error for the current counting system. When things are this close Bush would be doing the same if he were in Gore's position. I am of the opinion that anyone using count/recount argument to somehow implicate that Gore is doing something wrong is either highly partisan or lacks basic math skills and does not understand something as basic as margin of error.

When Democrats were talking about hand counting select counties that was clearly an attempt to twist the game in their favor. But a uniform count across Florida seems incredibly fair to me (as long as Bush and Gore can agree on the right "chads" to count or not count). I have a strong feeling that this kind of feeling is more representative of the country than either yours or Scumbria's.
