My thinking is all bucks stop at the U.S. Supreme Court anyway, so whatever they say is OK with me. The motto on my SI profile site is "Let the people decide," but in this election, alas, that wasn't possible. So I guess the only option is to let the hacks decide. But better judicial hacks than political hacks.

I agree 100 percent with your analysis that whoever wins will be a loser in the eyes of the public. However, I think we'll have a definite winner by Dec. 1.

Never thought about Gore winning Florida but Bush winning the popular. That would be very interesting reversal, wouldn't it? Excellent point.
