SUNW) 95 11/16 +1 3/4: Stock trading up ahead of mid-quarter update conference call at 3:30 pm ET. Banc of America Securities says that calls are typically brief but positive, with the message in just about every case being that sales are tracking at or ahead of expectations. B of A expects the same today, but waiting to see if there is any negative fallout from dot-com failures.

weird qwik. suncom dropped off a cliff starting about 03:30 pm est, the time of the cc. But around that same time, one of the women of women.com said that sites that appeal to women AND men are even going under so there is some talk of opening up their site to the OTHER 50% of the population ( also at the same time a big block traded DOWN 50% no doubt sold by a MAN). I can't decide which incident caused the drop in suncom, but my money is on the latter. <G>
