Amy,

The Florida law that Bush is using, contradicts another Florida statute, which favors Gore. Needless to say, it is exactly this contradiction that will become the heart of the legal battle.

But isn't it up to the legislature to change the law, and for SOS to apply it in the next election?

If the law is contradictory, where were the judges when it became signed into law? They had an option to strike it down (is that the correct legal term?)

And if the law is in fact contradictory, and SOS applies one side, and not the other contradicting it, what are the grounds to decide which part of the law is more important. Or how will Gore team argue that she didn't follow the law?

Joe
