as I understand it the vast majority of i-mode users don't want to surf the web and are happier on the i-mode sites. From what I understand access to the web is very limited and slow in Japan. So i-mode has a very easy comparison. However, once higher speed access to the web comes to Japan, people may begin to find i-mode's speed and content no longer attractive. Of course, the speed with which some things happen in Japan may mean this is a ways off. In the meantime, a robust higher-data-rate wireless offer to business may be the best direction for AU.
