Kantonen, President of FASC is pleased to announce that the United States Environmental Protection Agency has registered the patented KDS Micronex(TM) System as a pesticide device under establishment number 73753 - CAN - 001. This allows for manufacturing and distribution of the KDS Micronex(TM) for destroying any pests in compliance with EPA regulations. Laboratory testing has shown that the KDS Micronex(TM) system has the capability to process human and animal waste and to lower fecal coliform bacteria to less than 2 (CFU/g). This meets Section 503 sludge regulations for the Process to Further Reduce Pathogens (PFRP). This patented process uses no chemicals while processing sludge into a dry powder, which is nutrient rich, yet free of pathogens. The end product is reduced to a minus 600 mesh making it ready for prelling or pelletizing to be sold into the fertilizer market. According to Dr. J. Moore PhD, the project's technical advisor, "over 90% of the sewage plants in America are having trouble getting rid of their Class B sludge cake. This invention will be a big seller in making Class B sludge into a Class A fertilizer. The animal waste problem continues to grow as well, and is six times greater than the human waste problem; between the two areas, there is a multibillion dollar market." FASC is planning a series of tests processing chicken manure, which, if successful, will provide the basis for introducing the equipment into the agri- waste and recycling industry.
