Regardless, the issue is that he felt he was only being invited for the purpose of payment of the "donation" to promote his company.

THAT is the matter that needs addressed by Gilder. It was the OBVIOUS crux of the matter. And avoiding this obvious issue leads readers to have doubts about the integrity of the whole issue of inviting corporations to the seminar.

In my opinion, Gilder needs to try again. . .and write a new letter addressing the real issue. As I said before, if this is true, it clearly violates SEC regulations, unless there are disclaimers in Gilders reports of having received money for promotion of the stock. [which incidentally is what typical newsletters do]
