Not a bad analysis. But I think the Gore camp has tewo problems. First, the delay seems unnecessary. There was time to get a recount done but the counties delayed getting started and completing the process. Second, I think the reasons cited for the "hand recount" are relevant. There's no fraud alleged and certainly the SOS interest in promptly certifying and finalizing the results to preserve the integrity of the election process is legitimate. I think its tough for a Court to find and abuse of discretion unless Ms. Harris really makes a major misstep. JLA

I filled out a lottery ticket last week and accidentally got the numbers wrong. I meant to fill out the winning numbers. This mistake should not be held against me and the lottery commission should divine my intent and give me the money.

If they don't, I'm going to court.
