Seems like we never even discussed the last time a prez was elected by electoral college without winning popular vote in US History. I don't think anybody will remember it until it happens again another century down the road.knc

I didn't know that. Strategically, it might be better for Bush to win, so voters have more of a reason to vote democrat in 2002.

I agree. Important economic and foreign issues will take a back seat to ideological issues. Our country will be mired down in fighting over abortion rights, gay rights, different versions of the Ten Commandments in Schools, radical judge appointments.

Clinton's and Gore's fund raising antics will pale compared to the divisive nature of the upcoming Bush Junior presidency.
