Definitley the thought police at work. And Paul, you're right, labeling always interrupts discourse, even when I am guilty, and is usually the province of the ill informed. Re Novell and the Boy Scouts...Why would Novell be restricted from contributing to any group, or organization, they choose? Who is the final arbiter that says Novell "cannot contribute" to any organization they feel is worthy? And in the interest of accuracy, which fortunately takes divergent opinion and focuses it on factual issues so the debate can have form, the Boy Scouts don't advocate discrimination... they advocate rights guaranteed under the First Amendment to "freedom of association". Per the Supreme Court decision. However, my point is related to the continued mismanagement of Novell and how these kind of decisions have clearly, and negatively, affected the shareholders, of which I am one. And it has to do with what appears to be the utter lack of empathy, on behalf of the Schmidt upper management, towards its own employee base related to the political landscape and its attempt to participate in politically correct social engineering which I would speculate is contrary to the desires of a majority of its own employees. I would relish hearing from several Utah based employees to hear first hand if there is a negative impact, on the morale of the employees, due to these "social and political" decisions made by the Schmidt management team. Paul, be assured, I am not criticizing the company for following the law. And if that is what they are doing I will rescind my criticism (for what its worth). I don't believe this has anything to do with the law. This has to do with an utter failure of the management of Novell to responsibly and carefully manage the assets of the Company. Novell is fortunate, in my opinion, that the Plaintiff's bar has a rendevous with destiny in Florida. Don T.
