The Tyranny of the Minority...

Thanks Dan.

I was just wanting to point out that an armed insurrection might result in something better indeed, not necessarily anarchy at all.

I guess this is the core miscommunication. As you now realize I view the armed insurrection itself as anarchistic. As that did not come through in my original statement I attempted to clarify it.

At least, it's within the realm of possibilities.

Everything is within the realm of possibilities. My core point is that if the road to these possibilities involves armed insurrection, it breaks the implied consent by the insurgent citizens in the Constitution. They are in effect seceding from the union. The majority then becomes duty bound to respond with violent force. This was the basis for the Civil War. Lincoln had no choice but to defend the majority state, even at the terrible cost of enormous bloodshed.

What the armed insurgents are defending isn't the rule of law or the Constitution, they are in essence giving birth to a new state, one which the majority can not, and in my belief, will not consent to. Extremists on the left or right do not hold the hearts and minds of the American public. This armed tyranny of the minority will not stand. Those that bring armed force against the lawfully elected government are not defending the Constitution, they are attacking it.

I hope this clarifies my position. Have a good day.
