It appears that there is no precidant for the fall in AMAT's price during a dramatic rise in cumulative backlog. The closest comparison might be late '97 but backlog had not created new highs. In late '95 AMAT did not have a dramatic fall until after backlog began to drop.

This cycle is very different from the last one. I can't believe we will be returning to near zero backlog two years into this cycle.

This must be a buying opportunity. Too bad my portfolio has been decimated. Another margin call today because of PMCS!

like a dog chasing its own tail....does the back end companies lead the front end or vice versa??? and by how many months usually?

i dont think all the Feds interest rates have filtered down the economy yet.
