Despite receiving one paycheck that bounced and another that no bank
would cash, Minola Ward continues to show up for work at Telequest
Teleservices in Lexington.

Ward is one of between 50 and 100 employees trying to ride out rough
times at the Lexington call center, owned by an Arlington, Texas-based
company that has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The company's bank, Guaranty Business Credit, had stopped funding the
payroll because it ``was unhappy with management,'' Sherman said.
Telequest owner Gordon McKenna apparently had not been active in the
company's management for many months. An attorney for the company's
management told a Texas newspaper that McKenna had been playing golf
on both coasts and had not been involved in the company.
