<< The problem with outlawing Partial Birth Abortion only in cases where “the mother's health or life” is at stake, is that we must limit the definition of the terms “health” and “life” to physical health and life. >>

OK. I agree with this. Let's allow for PBA only if the physical health or life of the mother is at stake.

<< The problem with outlawing Partial Birth Abortion only in cases where “the baby is doomed or significantly deformed” is that according to ... the procedure is simply unnecessary. >>

That should be left up to the pregnant woman. Most would prefer the much less invasive D&E rather than having their stomachs cut open. If you doubt this, then the next time you have a stomach ache, try to fix it with a surgical knife instead of an alka seltzer.

<< The question is, on what logically compelling basis can anyone proscribe the murder of a child one second after it exits the birth canal? >>

Rather than put a doomed, deformed child thru months of misery, why not use PBA. That way his/her soul goes directly to Heaven for an eternity of wonderful pleasure, much better than you could ever get on Earth?
